Understanding Substance Use Among Apprentices in the Skilled Trades

This research study by the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum dives into the lived experiences of apprentices and tradespeople regarding substance use. The objectives of this study, based on an extensive survey and approximately 40 interviews, are to better understand apprentices’ and tradespeople’s lived experience and the support that they need concerning substance use, as well as employer, union and substance use experts’ perspectives on promising practices to help apprentices and tradespeople manage their substance use.
