Substance Use in the Trades: Being Aware E-Course

This free online course from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) is designed to increase awareness about the impacts of stigma and the importance of a healthy and safe workplace. Based on the key findings of the 2023 research study ‘Understanding Substance Use Among Apprentices in the Skilled Trades’, commissioned by the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum, this course aims to educate workers in the trades about substance use.

Developed by subject specialists and reviewed by representatives from labour, employers, and government, this course is part of a three-course series on substance use in the trades. It covers topics such as understanding substance use and recognizing the impacts of stigma. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
